About Me: My educational background includes business and computer science. I hold dual Bachelors of Science in finance and economics, a Master of Science in computer science, and a PhD in computer science, specializing in artificial intelligence and machine learning, specifically in the area of time-series prediction and classification using attention mechanisms and recurrent neural networks. In addition to computer science PhD hours, I have 24 hours post-graduate study in economics, finance, and operations management. For almost 30 years I was a software engineering professional, holding positions as software engineer, intelligent systems engineer, principal engineer, software architect, development manager, engineering director, and vice president of technology and engineering.

After three days without programming, life becomes meaningless.

In 2018 I left industry to pursue a new career in academics, starting at Austin Community College as Professor of Computer Science, and in 2019 beginning PhD study at Texas State University (complete as of October 10th, 2023). My areas of research are artificial intelligence, machine learning, recurrent neural networks, attention mechanisms, and data science. I am also a senior scientist working in the areas of software engineering, data science, and machine learning.

There's something that doesn't make sense.
Let's go and poke it with a stick.
